WHO AM I I was the secretary general at RFSU for 15 years and for five years, in the mid nineties, I was responsible for initiate and develop RFSU: s international work. RFSU is a NGO, based in Sweden, with a strong focus on SRHR (incl. LGBT) and gender equality Today RFSU is a frame organisation to Sida, the Swedish international development agency, and the international issues constitutes more than half of RFSU: s activity. The time I spent with international work gave me experience from work with community based programme and project, as well as insights in International politics and advocacy work. The main strategies for my work are advocacy, national and international, collaboration and networking with NGOs in different countries and parts of the world. I have done a lot of lecturing and writing in the field of SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights), young peoples rights etc. My advocacy work in Sweden has focused on contacts, discussions and interviews with media and decision makers in politics and administration. I were a member of several governmental delegations to UN-conferences, the first one was ICPD. I was also elected as a member of the, US based, Guttmacher Institute board for six years, and 2000 to 2006. Before I came to RFSU in 1987, I worked with information, media work and women’s rights other groups and organisations. For some years I worked as an academically trained social work, and in the early seventies I worked as a journalist at the biggest daily tabloid in Sweden. I have a strong interest in social and political issues I got engaged in the women’s movement in the early seventies and I am since than a feminist.
